Political as Unusual
For more than 30 years, Mad Dog Madigan has worked at the intersection of progressive politics, media, and visual culture.
His career began in political and cultural commentary as a Senior Editor at National Lampoon while writing culture comedy for Jay Leno - learning early how satire, timing, and narrative shape public perception. He became Art Director at Continuity Studios working under legendary Batman comic artist Neal Adams, whose socially conscious work redefined political storytelling in visual media. He trained under renowned political street artist Robbie Conal, gaining firsthand experience in confrontational, public-facing political art.
“Robbie was on Nixon’s hit list, that’s the ultimate badge of honor.” - Mad Dog Madigan
Across three decades, that foundation has evolved into a singular skill set: using design, satire, and modern visual language to move political messages through culture.
““I work with serious progressives who know where they stand, aren’t afraid to criticize both parties, and want sharp, visual political messaging that values clarity over comfort.” ”
